HAZELRIGG BROTHERS

Songs We Like (Deluxe Edition)

Songs We Like (Deluxe Edition) is the result of years of the Hazelrigg Brothers’ painstaking work and patience. The carefully curated track list on this newly extended include material originally performed by classic rock giants such as Led Zeppelin, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Steely Dan, Jethro Tull, The Police, and beloved Australian band Men at Work. Two classical works are also included along with two additional bonus tracks. Each number is given a complete reimagining by the trio and recorded as a live performance without a single overdub. This audiophile tour de force was captured by two AEA R88 Stereo Ribbon Microphones captured through 4 Hazelrigg Industries VLC Microphone Preamplifiers, hand-built by the Hazelrigg Brothers in the workshop of Hazelrigg Industries / D.W. Fearn, suppliers of the world’s finest audio recording equipment. This newly expanded album was also remixed and remastered by George and Geoff Hazelrigg, along with legendary engineer Doug Fearn with the aid of both the D.W. Fearn VT-5 Vacuum Tube Equalizer and the D.W. Fearn VT-7 Vacuum Tube Compressor.

DOUG FEARN

SPRING BIRDS

Recorded during the early days of the pandemic shutdown, this extraordinary audio document provides a rare glimpse into the purity of the natural world, free from the distractions of automobiles, trains and commercial aircraft. But rather than resulting in an eerie silence, the forests of rural Pennsylvania were filled with the glorious sounds of multitudes of birds singing, chattering and conversing.

Seeing this as a (hopefully) once in a lifetime opportunity, famed recording engineer Doug Fearn set up his equipment and captured this performance over the course of two spring mornings in May, 2020. Recorded Direct-to–DSD through two channels of Doug Fearn-designed D.W. Fearn vacuum tube microphone preamplifiers, this audiophile experience is sonically engaging, emotionally stirring and historically unique.
